Tenancy Handbook 2011/12
Bangor is one of the smallest cities in the United Kingdom. It is situated in a region of outstanding natural beauty where the Snowdonia mountains reach the sea. The City sits on the edge of the Menai Strait ( a narrow stretch of shallow tidal water about 14 miles (23 km) long separating Bangor and the mainland from the Isle of Anglesey)
Gateway to Anglesey and the Ogwen Valley, it is one of the most ancient cities in Wales. Its history began with the building of a monastery there by its first Bishop, Deiniol, in about 525AD.
Nowadays however, the town is a busy shopping centre with many High Street names.
Being a university town, Bangor is well used to catering for the needs of students so you are sure to find all the nightlife, leisure activities and amenities that you require. Over 8000 students can’t be wrong!

Follow the A55 along the north Welsh coast. Leave the A55 at the A5 (signposted to Bangor) and follow this road into the City. You will circle the city centre and head for the train station. As you reach the station you will be forced left onto a one-way system. Take the first right and then right again and you’ll see us on the corner.
The Plaza bus stop is outside our doors. This is one stop beyond the train station.
Twice daily direct train from London Euston to Holyhead - Bangor is along this route. Otherwise head for Crewe and then to Holyhead. As you leave Bangor train station, turn right and walk for 100 metres and you can’t miss us.
